Effective date: October 24, 2026
CapsCatch (“the extension”) is published by Truby Consulting Services (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at trubyconsulting@gmail.com.
The short version
- CapsCatch checks what you type on your own computer only.
- It does not record, save, or send the text you type.
- It does not show ads, use analytics, or sell any data.
- The only outside service it talks to is the payment service (ExtensionPay and Stripe), to start your free trial and to find out whether the one-time unlock has been bought.
What CapsCatch does with your typing
To notice accidental Caps Lock typing, CapsCatch reads key presses and the text immediately before the cursor in the text box you are typing in. This happens in your browser’s memory while you type. The text is used only to correct capital letters on the spot and is discarded right away. It is never written to storage and never sent to us or anyone else.
CapsCatch ignores password fields.
What is stored on your device
- Settings you choose (fix or warn, sound, writing systems, your optional first name, message style and color, number of words, your “My words” list, and sites where CapsCatch is paused). These are kept in your browser’s extension storage. If you are signed in to Chrome with sync turned on, Chrome may sync them across your devices as part of its normal sync.
- Counters: how many times CapsCatch fixed capitals and how many characters, per day for the last 90 days, plus how often you chose “Keep ALL CAPS” on each site (to offer to pause that site). These are numbers only. They never contain any text you typed, and they never leave your device.
- Trial and unlock status (for example, the date the free trial ends, or that the unlock was purchased), kept in your browser’s extension storage on your device.
Payments
CapsCatch has a 7-day free trial, started by confirming your email address, and then a one-time paid unlock. Payments are handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) using Stripe.
- When you pay, you enter your email and card details on Stripe’s secure checkout page. We never see or store your card number.
- When you start the free trial, you give your email address to ExtensionPay so the trial cannot be restarted by reinstalling. ExtensionPay and Stripe tell us that a trial or purchase was made and give us the email address used, so we can provide support and refunds.
- To check your unlock status, the extension sends a randomly generated anonymous ID to ExtensionPay. This ID is not linked to your typing or browsing.
Please also read the privacy policies of ExtensionPay and Stripe for how they handle payment information.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your browsing history, the pages you visit, the text you type, your location, or any information that identifies you, apart from the email address you provide when you start the trial or pay.
Your rights
Wherever you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may ask us what personal data we hold about you (which is only the email address you gave for the trial or purchase), ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use. Email us at trubyconsulting@gmail.com. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. Everything stored on your device can be removed any time by removing the extension.
Children
CapsCatch is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes will also be mentioned in the extension’s store listing.
